Pulse — Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 14, 2026 · Pulse ("we", "us") is an independently operated app. Contact: support@pulseclimb.app

1. Who this applies to

This policy covers the Pulse app and website at pulseclimb.app. Pulse is a personal-growth tracker. You must be 13 or older (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country) to use Pulse. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (see section 8).

2. Information we collect

3. How we use your information

To provide the app's features (sync across your devices, XP/rank calculation, leaderboards, the community section), keep your account secure, prevent abuse, and improve the product. We do not sell your personal data. We do not use it for advertising.

4. What other users can see

Pulse has leaderboards and a community section shared with other signed-in users. Other users can see:

Other users are never shown the written content of your notes, journal, or reflections, your weight entries, your nutrition details, or the money amounts you log. Do not put sensitive personal information in your username, avatar, or community posts.

5. Third-party services

We use Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore, where your data is stored) and Netlify (website hosting). Your data is processed under their terms: Google — policies.google.com/privacy; Netlify — netlify.com/privacy. If you email support, your message is routed through our email provider. The app also fetches a public cryptocurrency price from a public price service; no personal data is sent with that request.

6. Data retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can export your data (Settings → Your data → Export) or delete your account (Settings → Danger zone) at any time. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile and logged data from our database. A few things work differently:

DataWhat happens on deletion
Your logs, notes, goals, streaks, XPDeleted from our database
Automatic backups of your dataRotate out; no longer readable by any account
Community posts and repliesMay remain unless you delete them first (delete them in-app before deleting your account)
Your username reservationMay remain reserved
Progress photosNever left your device; clear your browser data to remove them

You can also request deletion by emailing support@pulseclimb.app from your account email; we complete emailed requests within 30 days. See account deletion instructions.

7. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA and others)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and to object to certain processing. Pulse provides in-app Export data and Delete account tools that work for everyone regardless of location. For any other request, email support@pulseclimb.app.

8. Children (COPPA)

Pulse is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us data, contact support@pulseclimb.app and we will delete it.

9. Security

Authentication is handled by Google's Firebase Authentication. Access to data is controlled by Firebase Security Rules, and your data is transmitted over HTTPS. Automatic versioned backups protect your data against loss. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

10. Changes

We may update this policy as Pulse evolves; we will change the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, note it in-app.
